Old Dry Frye is based on a traditional Appalachian folktale of the same name. Set in North Georgia in the late 19th century, the film tells how the accidental death of a chicken-gobbling itinerant preacher initiates a bizarre episode of guilt and deception among the residents of an isolated "holler."
