Papers, 1896-1953
Photographs, postcards, and ephemera gathered while traveling; clippings, maps and other material that belonged to Pierce. Most of the photographs and clippings are glued to annotated notebook pages. Photographic and postcard views of California are of Mammoth Lakes, the Devil's Post Pile, Rainbow Falls, Bodie, and Redondo Beach. There are also views of Colorado, Hawaii, the Philippines, and Luray caverns in Virginia. There is some correspondence and ephemera from the Pierces' trip to the Orient, as well as photographs of shipboard activities and of China and Japan. Scrapbook pages hold clippings about Pierce and the Los Angeles County Museum
