Practical problems in VLSI physical design automation

"Practical Problems in VLSI Physical Design Automation" will contain problems and solutions related to various algorithms used in VLSI physical design automation. Dr. Lim believes that the best way to learn new algorithms is to walk through a small example solvable in 10-15 min by hand. This knowledge will greatly help understand, analyze, and improve some of the well-known algorithms. Dr. Sung Kyu Lim has designed and taught a graduate-level course on physical CAD for VLSI at Georgia Tech. He found that the best way to help students understand the complex algorithms was to walk them through a small example by hand. Over the years Dr. Limn has written his homework with such a focus and has maintained typeset version of the solutions. Then he shared them with other colleagues teaching physical CAD either as a sole theme or as a part of EDA (electronic design automation) class. Some gave useful comments and even donated their own problems. That is how Dr. Lim decided to write a book. In case "Practical Problems in VLSI Physical Design Automation" proves to be useful, a similar book on logic and high-level synthesis can be written
