Drawing influence from Lucien Freud, Strautmann’s paintings deal with topics such as spirituality, nature, ecology, and figurations, and her writings address themes of nature and fantastic spaces. She has worked at the Berliner Ensemble and the Berlin University of the Arts. Strautmann has also appeared in films that are part of the collection of the Filmmuseum Frankfurt am Main.
