The Hitler library : a bibliography

A complete list of all the books once belonging to Hitler that are now owned by the Library of Congress. It provides a scholarly commentary as well as transcriptions of the hundreds of handwritten dedications that make the collection historically interesting. In addition to trade books presented to Hitler by his followers, Nazi organizations, ordinary Germans, and a few dozen foreigners, the Hitler Library also encompasses photograph albums, honorary citizenship diplomas, festschriften, and other unique items. Also included in this book are books in the Library of Congress's Third Reich Collection that belonged to other high Nazi officials, such as Joseph Goebbels, Hermann Göring, and Heinrich Himmler. Furthermore, we have listed books formerly owned by Hitler now located in the John Hay Library at Brown University and in other private collections. Finally, an inventory of the books once found in the library of the Rich Chancellery - Hitler's public office in Berlin - has been appended. (adapted from preface)
