The Miranda Downes murder case

The Channel 7 segment from 18.9.87, reports on the proceedings of the tenth day of the trial of Ernest Arthur Nib for the murder of Miranda Downes on 3rd August 1985. In the Sixty minutes segment, Ernie Nib asks Sixty minutes to provide certain tests for him in order to prove his innocence. These tests include the use of a lie detector, hypnosis, and some physical tests. As a direct result of the statements that he makes being proved to be at variance with his own expectations, Nib is arrested and charged with the murder of the Sydney scriptwriter, whose body was found, on a beach at Cairns, Queensland, on the day she arrived for a holiday
