The suburbanite
Mr. Cityman and his family move from their flat in the city and arrive at their new home in the suburbs. The truckmen arrive with their houshold furnishings and break articles in removing them from the van. The father and mother express their outrage, whereupon the workmen start smashing everything to pieces. Three little boys neatly attired are sent outside to play and quickly become covered with mud and dirt. Their mother angrily drags them into the house. Mr. Cityman with his arms full of bundles brings home from town a new cook. Mrs. Cityman gives him instructions for errands in the city. He runs to catch the morning train but just misses it. Mr. Cityman's mother-in-law comes for a visit and gets into a quarrel with the cook. Mr. Cityman attempts to eject her from the house but is routed by the cook. Five policemen arrive and drag her out. Disheartened by his experiences, Mr. Cityman places a "To let, furnished" sign on the house and moves out with his family
