The collection contains letters of T. Edgar Lyon to his younger sister, Janette, and her family, a copy of the oral history of T. Edgar Lyon, interviewed by Davis Bitton for the LDS Church Historical Department, T. Edgar Lyon's 1962 dissertation and other publications, additional items relating to Laura Hermana Forsberg and family, and microfilm copies of the papers of T. Edgar Lyon (50 reels) from the LDS Church Historical Department. Materials also include several books read and marked by T. Edgar Lyon Sr., two additional copies of Lyon's dissertation on Orson Pratt published by the University of Chicago, Lyon's book, Evangelical Protestant Missionary Activities in Mormon Dominated Area: 1865-1900, and several pages of notes written by Lyon
