A relaxing afternoon in the forest turns into the adventure of a lifetime for Peter Palette when he becomes "elm-chanted" by a magical tree. Now gifted with the ability to talk to the animals of the woods, Peter uncovers an evil plot from the Cactus King to turn the forest into a desert. It seems that the Cactus King, Emperor Spine, is unhappy and unloved--and can't stand the friendship and cooperation that the plants and animals of the forest share. He dispatches his army to destroy the woods and all of its inhabitants. But Peter and the Animals have another plan. They need to counter-attack to save theforest and decide to hit the emperor with the most powerful weapon of all: love. Will they make it time? Will their plan succeed?
