Franklin Fisk Barker was born in Wisconsin in 1892. The family moved to Iowa where his father practiced medicine. He married Stella Starkey after World War I and they settled in Iowa. They were the parents of three children. Stella was born and raised in California. Information on their English ancestry and their settlement in the United States is given in this volume
