He grew up on a world shaped by war in several forms, from the aftermath of his grandfather's role in WWI, to hearing and watching the fires from the bombs of WWII, to the everyday war of street gangs, fighting for turf. In counter, Michael's uncles, brother, friend and mentor presented him with support, love and fun. Finally, he tells about his mother Rose, who handily raised her family of five
